Entrance to Christ Church, built c.1860. Ashlar limestone gate piers with chamfered corners, recessed pointed arch panels to front (south-west) elevations, cornice and capping. Decorative wrought-iron arch with finial over tooled limestone step and double-leaf cast-iron gates. Flanked by snecked dressed stone walls with tooled limestone coping and cast-iron railings. Rubble stone terminal piers with roughly dressed stone block cornice and recent render capping, having OS benchmark to front elevation of eastern pier.

A fine entrance forming an interesting and notable feature within the streetscape. Its symmetrical appearance is enhanced by high quality and well-crafted materials, particularly seen in the gate piers, wrought-iron arch and cast-iron railings and gates. Limestone kerbing compliments the entrance by linking it into the streetscape fabric.
