Poulelva is the deep southern chamber of the longest cave in Ireland, hidden beneath the white limestone of the Burren. In 1935 the Yorkshire Ramblers' Club dropped through its thirty-metre pot, joining two separate cave worlds into one breathing river of stone. The water still flows from upper sinks to the Killaney rising, carrying marble dust and forgotten hours through darkness so complete it swallows thought itself.
