Enclosure in Coolanowle

Marked on the 1888 and 1909 editions of the OS 6-inch map; a subcircular area (max. diam. c. 40m N-S). The site has been levelled but a circular area defined by vegetation change is visible on the ground. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
