Earthwork in Clovers is a sub-circular mound in County Limerick pasture, measured thirty-seven by thirty-four metres and marked by a scarp running from southwest through north to southeast. It appeared on the 1897 Ordnance Survey map before modern farming softened its edges into a faint oval visible only from above. The mound may have marked a boundary, a burial place or a watch point for the upland valley, but its purpose has faded with the people who built it. What remains is a shape the land still holds, waiting for someone to remember why it was made.
