One metre wide and nearly collapsed, the cave hides inside the SW bank of a Galway rath. Its drystone walls still hold a single roof lintel above a passage that runs NE-SW into darkness. A small recess branches northwards just inside the NE breach, perhaps a place to crouch, listen or leave behind what should not be carried further.

Incorporated into the SW section of the enclosing bank of a rath (GA123-037----). Apart from one roof lintel, this drystone-built Man-made underground passage (Wth 1m), of indeterminate length, has almost completely collapsed. It runs NE-SW. Immediately inside a breach at its NE end, a small recess extends northwards off the NW side-wall. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 29 November 2017
