Not visible at ground level. Site appears to be that of a natural glacial hillock with agricultural terrracing around base of hillock situated on top of an esker ridge. Potential monument identified by T. McDonald as part of an archaeological survey of the Clonmacnoise region in 1987 (McDonald 1987, 8). Described by McDonald as 'a ring-work enclosed by a low bank which contains a very wide platform locally called 'Cluain-Chonchobar' (McDonald 1987, 19). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
