Bauvin is a ruined kidney-shaped enclosure on a Galway rise, half stolen by quarrying and half buried under grass. Local tradition claims a hidden cave lies beneath the remains, though no entrance or tunnel has ever appeared. The missing west half suggests the site gave up its stones to build something else, perhaps roads, walls or homes that no longer remember where they came from. What is left is a shallow scar in the land, marking the place where human hands shaped the earth before forgetting how.

On top of a slight rise in undulating farmland. A poorly preserved kidney-shaped enclosure (E-W c. 52.5m, N-S 23.5m) defined by a bank from N to NE, and by a scarp from E to S. The entire W half has been quarried away, but slight traces of the bank are visible at W. According to local tradition, there is a 'cave' (possible Man-made underground passage) within the interior of which no visible surface trace survives.
