What is recorded here

Dooneen rises as a sub-oval hillock on the east bank of the River Lyre, marked by terracing and a summit standing stone. It is the kind of place where people may have climbed, watched the water or set stones before leaving no written trace. The earthwork still holds that shape, waiting for a person to notice what it kept hidden.

On E bank of River Lyre. Sub-oval hillock (c. 110m N-S; c. 65m E-W) with traces of possible earthworks and terracing from base to summit, particularly to S. Standing stone (6639) on summit.
