One chamber tomb in Clahane, County Kerry, may have held a round stone in a central bowl, according to a Kerry Field Club account from 1939. That image makes the dead place sound like a game or an offering tray, with a ball waiting in the hand of stone. The tomb has not been identified since, so the claim remains a whisper rather than a marker. It is the kind of detail that should have been walked to, photographed and remembered before the field disappeared from the list.

The precise location of a possible megalithic tomb referred to a a 'Druid's Altar' in the townland of Clahane recorded in the Minute Book of County Kerry Field Club 03/05/1939 (Vol. 1, 8) has not been identified. The Kerry Field Club recorded that a 'stone ball found in Foley's Glen by Mr Hugh Slattery' who stated that 'one of them rests in the central cavity or bowl of the slab of the druid's altar' (SMR File).
