What is recorded here

Crannóg described by O'Kelly (1944, 19) as following; 'This crannog is called Church Island on the earliest edition of the O.S. map but it is not shown on the recent revisions. . It is situated on the present shore-line on the S. side of Lough Gur and appears merely as a small solid area surrounded on the landward side by a soft marsh. It seems to have been connected with the mainland by a causeway'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 06 August 2019
