Church in Foilogohig

In wet undulating ground. Bowman (1934, 447) recorded church site in Mrs T. Clifford's farm; McCarthy (1991, 90) was informed that 'the outline of a little church was clearly visible...It measured 28ft x 8ft outside, was divided into two compartments and was made of mud mixed with straw'. Bowman (ibid.) also noted that 'Around [church] are the grass covered mounds showing the sites of about 20 houses...Average size of houses 21ft x 12ft. Enclosure circular, diam. c. 30yds, distance of nearest house from enclosure 15yds, surrounding fence of enclosure is now levelled.' Some undulations noted in area of site.
