Killeen still names the eastern field, though the circular rise and graveyard have vanished from memory. A house and farmyard occupied the enclosure around 1900, but even a rath in the southern part had disappeared by 1956. What remained was a name repeated in local speech, pointing to a buried centre that nobody could anymore identify.

According to Doyle (1981), 'Up to twenty five years ago [c. 1956] there was a Rath in the southern part of Kileen. Nothing is known of what type of rath it was'. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 267), 'Locally the townland of Cellarstown East is always called Killeen. 'Killeen' is indicated on the 6-inch OS revision of 1900 in this townland associated with a house and farmyard. This is probably the same enclosure (KK020-063----) which is noted by Carrigan (ibid.) as being associated with a church (KK020-064001-) and graveyard (KK020-064001-) which, 'stood here on a circular rise, resembling a moat, in the northern extremity of a field called the "Killeen."'
