Cave

Seven hundred and twenty-six metres of dark water-cut passage stretch beneath Ballymaglancy, close enough to Cong that the townland name still carries the Clancy family in its Irish form. The cave keeps its secrecy by law, a closed chamber where lesser horseshoe bats hang through the seasons and human curiosity must stop at the boundary. Pollwalter, the mill pond in the old field names, hints that water and work once moved around this place before the cave became a protected silence. To walk past it is to touch the edge of a living dark, not a dead hole.
