Freestanding cast-iron water hydrant, installed c.1880. Moulded base and fluted shaft having moulded cornice with plain spout, surmounted by fluted cap.
This water hydrant exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with banded shaft and cap, and moulded neck. It is an interesting and notable feature on the streetscape and offers a reminder of a time before domestic running water.
