What is recorded here

Caher is a subcircular fairy fort in County Galway, its fifty-metre earthen bank still standing in level pastureland despite boundary walls cutting through the north and south. The neat eastern gap may be an original entrance, inviting humans into a space perhaps kept for unseen neighbours. What lives inside the ring now is unknown, but the shape endures where younger buildings have vanished.

In level pastureland. Subcircular rath (N-S 50m, E-W 48m), in fair condition, defined by a bank and external fosse. A gap (Wth 2.8m) at NE may be original. The td. boundary wall cuts the monument at N and S; to W of which no visible surface trace survives.
