Iron turnstile gate and entrance screen to Phoenix Park, erected c.1835. Partially intact iron gate comprising iron screen fixed to ground and to granite lintel, set within round-plan iron structure. Granite ashlar surround with stacked limestone coping flanked by bowed rubble stone walls supporting spear-headed cast-iron railings embedded into park boundary wall. To park side entrance is sloping tarmac footpath with cast-iron handrail.

A simple mid-nineteenth-century turnstile set within the north boundary wall to Phoenix Park. While the ironwork and masonry surround are plainly detailed and the turnstile appears to be missing a component part, the structure continues to serve its original function. One of several nineteenth-century park entrances dating from Decimus Burton’s remodelling, this simple pedestrian entrance contributes to the wide variety of structures that adorn the grounds of the park.
