What is recorded here

A desiccated stake (L 0.25m; diam. 0.02m) projecting from the field surface at an angle of 30°. The lower end is worked to a chisel point. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
