On a glacial knoll in grassland. Roughly circular enclosure (D 42m), in fair condition, defined by a scarp and intervening fosse with traces of an outer bank at SE. Gap at S may be modern. A castle (GA006-047001-) lies within the interior. (Knight c. 1975, 110) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
