What is recorded here

Indicated is a buried fairy fort on a narrow Mayo ridge, its wide stone bank smothered in grass and forgotten by the living. Children’s graves wait two hundred metres east, suggesting the site still handles death and change rather than ordinary life. The earth has not released the place; it has simply stopped answering human requests.
On a narrow N-S pasture ridge, in the NW corner of a later field. A heavily overgrown circular area (int. diam. 24m) is enclosed by a flat-topped (Wth 1-3m) bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.2 at N to 9m at W; int. H 0.5-1m; ext. H 1.1 at S to 2.1m at W). A Children’s Burial ground (MA070-056----) lies c. 200m to the E and a second ringfort (MA070-105----) lies c. 130m to the S.        Date of visit: 7-3-2025 Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Leo Morahan
