Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Carrownamaddoo (carbury By., Rossinver West Ed) is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Carrownamaddoo (carbury By., Rossinver West Ed), County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies a slight rise on a SE-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. A rubble limestone bank, 2.3m wide and 0.6m high internally, encloses a 20m circular area. Stone blocks revet the external foot from S-ENE and the internal foot from SW-WNW, while a NW-SE drystone field wall crosses the site.
Situated on a slight rise, on a slight SE-facing slope, in gently undulating pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 20m) enclosed by a bank of rubble limestone (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.6m). No fosse visible. The bank is best preserved S-NNW. From S-ENE the external foot of the bank is revetted with stone blocks and from SW-WNW the internal foot of the bank is revetted. The site is crossed by a NW-SE orientated drystone field wall that intersects with the cashel bank at NW and at S. Original entrance not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
