What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in low-lying Mayo marsh, its shallow bank and eastern ditch still marking a circular chamber near Ballinrobe. Local story calls it a dwelling for unseen guests rather than a human home, which fits the wet isolation and absent hearth. People may have avoided the place, not from fear of danger but from respect for a address already occupied.

In low-lying marshy ground, 210m SE of ringfort (MA100-069----). Raised, circular area (33m N-S; 36m E-W), enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.8m), with external fosse on E.
