What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort on a slight ridge in County Mayo, Ireland. Its oval platform measures 38 metres north-south and 29 metres east-west, bounded by a scarp rising 1.8 to 2.4 metres. A collapsed underground passage lies hidden beneath a shallow depression near the northeast edge, waiting for someone brave enough to find the entrance.
Located on a slight N−S ridge.
Oval platform (38m N−S; 29m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 1.8m). The scarp is higher (H 2-2.4m) on the N and S arcs where it cuts into higher ground, and here there is evidence of a fosse (Wth 3m) with slight remnants of an external bank outside the scarp. A depression (L c. 10m NE−SW) in the NE quadrant of the interior, close to the edge of the platform, marks the location of a collapsed Man-made underground passage (MA070-164002-).
There is another rath (MA070-165----) c. 175m to E.
