Clearance stones and forgotten tools may have built the visible ring, yet the chamber chamber waited for people who never came. The fairies completed what human hands abandoned, turning a discarded boundary into a living home. They still inhabit the cave chamber beneath Carrigagulla, waiting for the door to open again.

In pasture, on SE-facing slope, overlooking Laney River valley. Circulararea (42m N-S; 41.1m E-W) defined by earthen bank (max. int. H 1.55m), with external fosse (D 0.9m). Counterscarp bank survives NNW->NNE and ENE->SSE; heavily overgrown. External fosse filled in with field clearance stones SSE->WSW; shallow to W. Gaps in bank to NE (Wth 2.9m) and SE. Land drops sharply down to stream immediately outside enclosure to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
