What is recorded here

Gorry na Gorp, meaning graveyard of corpses in Carrickrobin, still carries the memory of a brutal battle whose victims were buried on the spot. A possible cist emerged there in the late 18th century, suggesting the ground had hidden dead long before anyone wrote the story. The name itself refuses to forget, forcing every passerby to imagine the red confusion and sudden silence that created the grave.

Believed to be the site of ancient graveyard and known as 'Gorry na Gorp' (Gairidh na gCorp). There is a tradition that a battle was fought here and the dead were interred afterwards on the spot.
