Indicated is a circular earthwork on a Mayo hillside where a shallow rectangular dip still cuts into the grass, perhaps the mouth of a lost underground passage. The fort stands in open pasture, bounded by a scarp, a narrow fosse and a low bank that later hands may have dressed with stone. It is no grand castle, but a small inhabited shape: a place for keeping, hiding, remembering or being kept from others.

In pasture, situated on a SE facing hillside. Raised circular area (diam. 22.9m) defined by a scarp. At ENE–SE the scarp is topped with a low earthen bank, faced externally with drystone masonry which is probably of relatively recent date. At the foot of the scarp is a shallow fosse (Wth. 3.1m; max. D 0.3m) which is truncated at W–NNW by a NE–SW field boundary. Projecting into the internal area from the scarp at S is a shallow rectangular depression (L 5.5m N-S; Wth 1m; max. D 0.2m) which may indicate a collapsed Man-made underground passage (MA014-066001-). This is a National Monument in State ownership (No. 631).
