Indicated

Ecclesiastical enclosure

What is recorded here

Indicated is an ecclesiastical enclosure in County Kildare, Ireland. A graveyard containing a church sits inside a mortared stone wall. Along the north and east, that wall still holds the outer face of a low, broad earthen bank, perhaps the remains of an older enclosure. The place is small, layered and quietly stubborn in its survival.
A graveyard (KD017-007001-) containing a church (KD017-007----) is enclosed by a mortared stone wall, part of which, along the N and E, retains the outer face of a low, broad, earthen bank (Wth 3.9; int H 0.5m; ext. H 1.4m) which may be the remains of an earlier, ecclesiastical enclosure. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
