Childrens Burial Ground occupies the heart of a rath on the eastern edge of a slight plateau in County Roscommon. Its rectangular mound measures ten point seven metres north-south and five point five metres east-west, rising only twenty to forty centimetres above the ground. Stones still cover the surface, marking a place where young lives may have been returned to the earth before the wider village claimed them.
