What is recorded here
Burial in Cam marks a quiet ridge in County Roscommon where stone extraction opened the earth and revealed old graves near a standing stone. The place belongs to people who died before written records, yet their bodies still answer the hammer and chisel. To stand there is to hear the ridge speaking through loss, reminding that even ordinary ground keeps its dead close when human pride breaks it open.
On the crest of a low N-S ridge, which had been quarried. There are local reports of the discovery of burials near the standing stone (RO048-074001-) when the ridge was quarried.
