Cahergorman is a circular fairy fort in County Galway, its collapsed drystone wall now hidden beneath grazing land and field boundaries. The site measures thirty-eight metres across, large enough for human occupation yet overlooked by the cattle that graze above it. What was lost is not destruction but forgetting, the kind that comes when a place stops being named and becomes only ground under hooves.

On a gentle rise in grazing land. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 38.4m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall overlain by a field boundary at E. Traces of inner and outer wall-facing are visible intermittently. A field boundary cuts across the monument at and S and field clearance-rubble obscures the enclosing element at N.
