Terraced three-bay two-storey house, extant 1838, on a rectangular plan. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles centred on rendered chimney stack having concrete capping supporting terracotta pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on rendered cut-limestone eaves. Rendered, ruled and lined walls with rusticated rendered quoins to end. Square-headed central door opening with drag edged tooled cut-limestone step threshold, and drag edged tooled cut-limestone block-and-start surround centred on keystone framing timber panelled door. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, and rendered "bas-relief" block-and-start surrounds framing two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes. Street fronted with concrete footpath to front having cut-limestone kerbing.
A house representing an integral component of the domestic built heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on a restrained doorcase demonstrating good quality workmanship; the somewhat disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing compounded by the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a feint graduated tiered visual effect; and the high pitched roofline. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the historic or original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, thus upholding the character or integrity of a house making a pleasing visual statement in Peter Street.
