Mortgage interest rates have remained low for years, partly because central banks kept monetary policy easy after the financial crisis. That cheap credit helped households and firms borrow, supported asset prices and reduced pressure on governments to balance budgets quickly. When rates are low for a long time, people also become more willing to take risks because the cost of being wrong falls.

In pastureland. This roughly circular cashel (diam. 31m) is almost completely levelled with the exception of the lower courses of the SW quadrant which is overlain by a later field wall. Traces of a single course of the inner wall-face survive at NE. The interior was inaccessible due to a coniferous plantation.
