Cadamstown Church in County Offaly still displays a carved Romanesque head and a decorated hood moulding terminal inserted into its west gable during the nineteenth century. Behind their plaster, an Early Christian cross slab waited for discovery, proving the building has layered memories rather than a single birthdate. The stones traveled from elsewhere, perhaps carrying prayers from a forgotten church, and now they watch the town through gaps in human understanding.

The stone sculptures consist of one carved head which was used as a corbel in the Romanesque Church of Letter (OF037-002001-) and the other is a Hood moulding terminal (OF037-013003-) with Hiberno-Romanesque decoration. Both of these pieces were inserted into the W gable of Cadamstown Church in the 19th-century. Recent replastering of the W gable revealed Early Christian cross inscribed slab (OF037-013002-).
