This is the record for the burnt mound excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3226) on the N11 road improvement scheme. No associated trough was identified but two unmodified flint flakes of Bronze Age type were recovered from the feature. (Whitty 2009f)

Burnt mound; Bronze Age. The presence of unmodified flint flakes suggests it was part of a domestic or ritual activity, typical of water heating practices in early farming communities.
