The curving eastern edge of the Baltrasna field marked a forgotten cemetery where seven bodies lay stretched west to east. Men and women waited beneath the soil until a house foundation cut through their quiet guard in March 1963. The trench exposed their bones before they could be lost again, proving that the land still remembered what people had stopped naming.

March 1963 human remains were discovered in digging the foundation trenches for a house (Feeley 2001, 30-2, No. 6). The field in which the burials occurred has a curvilinear boundary on its E side, and it is possible that this was the original boundary of a cemetery. A small excavation (E001128) was undertaken by E. Prendergast in 1963. Portions of a number of in situ burials were visible in the section faces of the foundation trenches. All of these burials were extended and aligned W-E. At least seven individuals, four males and three females were identified (Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 385-387).
