What is recorded here
Ancestral memories and dreams of Mnemo and her kind swirl around this place. The chamber is a familiar dancing ground where human and fairy minds meet across dimensions. People from every tradition return to this spot because it is a living bridge between worlds.
Located in a col with drumlins to the NW, NE and SW and Lough McHugh c. 700m to the E. In 1945 (OSFM) this rath was defined by an earth bank but no fosse was noted. In 1991 (SMR file) it was discernible as a grass-covered subcircular area (dims 34m N-S; 29.5m E-W) defined by slight traces of a fosse, but its visible profile had eroded away by 2000 (OSAP).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
