What is recorded here

Grave is a Famine burial site on the west side of a small bay in County Galway, hidden just above the high-water mark. Local tradition holds that heavy storms have dragged human bones from the soil, suggesting the dead were placed where the sea could still touch them. The earth keeps no visible trace now, but it may still move what it swallowed.

Just above HWM on W side of a small bay. Indicated on OS 6-inch maps and regarded in local tradition as a Famine graveyard: human bones are reported to have been found there after heavy storms.
