Bullaun stone in Kildermody

Situated towards the bottom of an E-facing slope. A bullaun stone (dims. 0.37m x 0.3m; H 0.2m) with a single basin (diam. 0.26m; D 0.1m) was found NE of the church site (WA016-068001-) during land reclamation, and is kept at the location. Dated to the early medieval period, bullaun stones like this one were often associated with Christian sites and may have been used for ritual purposes, such as the preparation of holy water or as pilgrimage markers. Local folklore sometimes links them to saintly figures or healing traditions.
