Burial ground in Brodullagh South

Burial ground

What is recorded here

Brodullagh South holds a buried dead place, though no visible mound or marker remains to show where the bodies rest. The land may have swallowed whole families, their names lost before writing reached that part of Mayo. What is missing is not an error; it is the shape of the place. A burial ground without a grave is a room where the dead refuse to be pointed at.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
