This blue commemorative plaque records: Ellen King MBE 1896-1968. Headmistress of Bristol's first nursery school which stood next to this 13th century hall. In recognition of her tireless work on behalf of the local community.
Ellen King MBE was a pioneering headmistress who established Bristol's first nursery school, significantly contributing to early childhood education in the region. Her efforts were recognized with an MBE for her dedication to improving educational opportunities and supporting the local community.
