What is recorded here

Shipley Clock Tower rose in 1961 as the bright heart of a new shopping centre, its Festival of Britain lines catching light above the Underground Market. Bruce Forsyth opened the place, and the tower stood watch over ordinary days, chiming later after a 2009 refurbishment and glowing pink once for charity. It is the kind of landmark people argue about because it is young, sharp and unashamedly local. Even without listed status, it still marks Shipley against the sky.
