Boyhollagh holds a leaning stone on a low oval rise beneath the Ox Mountains, facing Croagh Patrick and Nephin across open pasture. Its smooth eastern face catches light while irregular western indentations break the shadow, suggesting human hands shaped or selected it before memory faded. The stone still tilts north like a witness waiting for someone to return and complete the conversation.

In average pasture, broken by rocky outcrops, located on top of a small, low roughly oval natural rise, in the foothills of the NW-facing slopes of the Ox Mountains. Immediately to E–SE the ground rises to a low N–S ridge, broken by rock outcropping and strewn with boulders, and overshadowed by the steeper mountain slopes. Extensive views SW–NW are punctuated by distant views of the summit of Croagh Patrick to SW, and the summit of Nephin to WSW. Irregular-shaped stone (H c. 1.35m; 0.8m NNE–SSW; 0.5m) set upright in the ground. To the E and SW the stone presents relatively flat, smooth faces but the W and NW faces are characterised by irregular indentations, giving the stone a multi-angled cross-section.
