Indicated is a fairy fort in County Kilkenny, a circular grassy platform thirty-eight metres across, ringed by earthen banks and a shallow fosse. It sits on a slight hill overlooking flat western land, offering clear views in every direction. The entrance faces east, marked by a causeway across the ditch and gaps in both banks. Inside, the ground remains level and empty, preserving the shape of an old dwelling rather than revealing its occupants.

On a slight hill in rolling landscape of small hillocks and hollows, under grass. To the W the land is fairly low-lying and flat. There are very fine views in all directions. A circular raised platform (int. diam. 38m) enclosed by a slight flat-topped earthen bank (Wth at crest 1m; overall Wth 4m; int. H 1.2-1.5m; ext. H 2m), wide, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 1.6m) and wide, flat-topped earthen outer bank (Wth at crest 2.5m; overall Wth 5.5m; ext. H 1.2m). There is an entrance in E (Wth 3m) with a break in both banks and a causeway across the fosse. The interior is level and featureless. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 14 May 2019
