Enclosure in Boolahallagh

Enclosure

What is recorded here

On a N-facing slope, on the edge of a ridge, in rough upland pasture. This monument was identified as a possible enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on an aerial photograph (GSI S 714/713). There are no visible remains above ground, however, a curving kink in the field boundary immediately N of enclosure would suggest that it was respecting an existing monument when it was built. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
