Octagonal, shallow, moved once from Dunmoe to St. Oliver Plunkett in Navan, the font keeps doing what fonts do: holding water for the naming of children, the washing of hands, the small repeated ceremonies that make a church feel lived in rather than displayed. Its plain edges and receding mouldings suggest craftsmanship uninterested in praise. That it survived relocation is itself a kind of blessing, carrying memory from one building to another without breaking.

The plain octagonal font (ext. dim. 0.62m; H 0.38m) with a circular, straight-sided basin (diam. 0.46m; D 0.22m) and two receding mouldings underneath that was in the church at Dunmoe (ME025-018001-) (Roe 1968, 115) is now at the Roman Catholic church of St. Oliver Plunkett, in St. Mary’s Park in Navan.
