What is recorded here
Duneany holds a bivallate rath, meaning two concentric rings of earth enclose one another instead of a single wall. That double boundary suggests the place excluded more deliberately than an ordinary farmstead. People may have lived inside the inner ring while the outer ring marked territory, ceremony or warning. The earth still repeats that shape in County Antrim, waiting for a visitor to read its patience.
