Indicated is a crannog in County Galway, Ireland. It occupies marshy land close to the west shore of Altore Lough. The circular mound measures about 29 metres across and rises more than 1.5 metres above the surrounding ground. Hawthorn trees have grown over the structure, softening its edges and hiding the shape of the made island beneath green branches.
