Mound in Belcamp

Mound

What is recorded here

Belcamp Park still casts its long shadow southward, though the mound Adams described in 1881 has vanished from memory and marker alike. Whatever bones or breath once stirred beneath that earth have been forgotten twice: once by time, once by the park itself.
Adams (1881, 492-493) describes a burial mound south of the avenue of Belcamp Park. The exact location of this monument is unknown. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 26 August 2011
