This blue commemorative plaque records: From 1902 to 1964 this was the workplace and shop of Alderman G.W.Willis JP FSA first Freeman of Basingstoke, Watchmaker and Jeweller who founded the Willis Museum Recorded plaque organisation: Basingstoke Heritage Society.
G.W.Willis was a prominent local figure in Basingstoke, known for his work as a watchmaker and jeweler, and for founding the Willis Museum, which bears his name and continues to serve the community.
