Structure

An irregular, sparse spread (L 3.3m; Wth 2.7m; D 0.05m min.) of brushwood and twigs on the field surface. No clear structure is evident. A toolmark was noted at the identification stage but had been destroyed by the time of recording. The wood is in poor condition and sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
