Barrow, mound barrow

What is recorded here

Surveyed in 2013 and described by McGuinness (2014, 60) as following: 'The survey-team was unable to gain access to this monument this season. The 1983 ASI description is as follows: There is a small mound clearly visible on the shoulder of a hill to SE of ringfort (WM018-091----). This mound is certainly artificial and appears to be of some antiquity. It is roughly circular in shape, c. 6m in diameter on top. It is composed of earth and stone, & is c. 50cm high. Some bushes are growing beside it & on top of it. It commands a very good view. [SMR file] If an ancient burial mound, this monument would appear to be a small mound-barrow Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details provided by David McGuinness. Date of upload: 23 February 2015

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
